So I've been looking at picking up everything and moving south. I have not moved more than a six block radius in my life and have more or less lived on the same side of town for 22 plus years. I do not know the first thing when it comes to moving to a whole new area. My question is. If I'm moving out of state. what kind of stuff do I have to do. If I'm receiving SSI, who do I call. I know there have been people here who have moved all over the place. how do you make the transition as smooth as possible

Liam. Well to sart with, make a list of all of the things that you have to do and when they have to be done. When it comes to the check, that shouldn't be a problem. If you don't have direct deposit, I suggest getting it. As far as moving your stuff, decide what you want to keep and what would be more costly to move. Like if you have an old ass TV, get a new one. It will lighten the load. Moving the fewest amount of things will do two things. Make you feel like you have a clean start, and lighten the load off of your shoulders, trying to move everything. Don't put things in storage if they are not valuable, if they are, you should take them with you.
Now for the big question. If things don't work out down south, would you want to stay there or move back? If you want to move back, have an escape plan. There is so much. Let me know if you want to talk about it or have any other questions. I moved from Massachusetts to Florida with just my clothes and some, few personal items. I fit everything in a car. Now I also moved a whole house of stuff from California to South Carolina. I liked the first move better. I didn't pay for the truck moving from west to east. The cost of the truck could replace some things left behind.
That's enough babbling
good luck to you
